Wagner Cast Iron Skillet Pair & Seven-Ear Corn Bread Mold, 3 Pieces
A three-piece group of antique American cast iron cookware. The set pairs a Wagner's "1891 Original" 8.5-inch skillet, marked on the underside with the full Wagner Ware logo and seasoning instructions, with a larger double-spouted cast iron skillet marked No. 9 at the handle base. Both pans sit flat and carry the deep, used patina of long kitchen service.
Rounding out the lot is a seven-ear corn bread mold — the cob-form cavity bakers that turned out crisp-shelled cornsticks shaped like ears of corn, a Southern and Midwestern table staple. The mold retains a partial maker mark near the hanging hole. Cast iron of this kind earned its keep on wood stoves and ranges across generations; cleaned and re-seasoned, all three pieces remain serviceable today.
CONDITION
Fair overall, with signs of previous use across all three pieces. Surfaces show patina, oxidation, and cooking residue consistent with working age; the large skillet shows interior wear and seasoning loss to bare metal in spots. All three sit flat.
