So Good Saratoga Potato Chips & Uneeda Bakers Cheese Wafers Advertising Tins
A pair of mid-century American advertising tins. The first is a So Good Saratoga Potato Chips tin from the So Good Potato Chip Co., St. Louis, MO, in bold red and cream with the diamond trademark, the "For That Party" tagline, and "Made from selected potatoes, fried in pure vegetable oil, salt added." The reverse carries the "America's Favorite Snack" slogan and lists branches at Evansville, Terre Haute, and Indianapolis, Indiana. The second is a deep-blue "Uneeda Bakers" Cheese Wafers tin from the National Biscuit Company, illustrated with a stack of NBC-stamped wafers and carrying the familiar Uneeda oval-and-cross trademark on the lid.
Both tins display the lithographed graphics that made early grocery packaging collectible long after the snacks were gone. The Nabisco wafer tin notes a net weight of 10 ounces; the So Good chip tin lists 8 ounces. Both are empty and ready for display or kitchen storage.
CONDITION
Good overall with age-appropriate wear across both. The chip tin shows scratches, scattered paint loss, a dent, and edge rust; the wafer tin has heavier finish loss, flaking, and surface rust to the interior and base. Both are empty.
