Singer Touch & Sew 600E Sewing Machine in Mid-Century Cabinet
A complete Singer Touch & Sew Model 600E sewing machine fitted into its original mid-century walnut cabinet — the kind of compact sewing station that lived in countless 1960s homes. The cabinet carries the period's clean lines: a slim case raised on tapered, brass-capped legs, with a fold-open top that conceals the recessed machine well and a hidden storage compartment alongside it. Cast brass pulls dress the drawers; drop-leaf extensions hinge out to nearly double the work surface for larger projects.
The Singer cabinet is maker-marked (mark shown in reference photos) and built with one dovetailed working drawer and one faux drawer front. The 600E, in Singer's familiar cream and gray livery with slide controls for pattern selectors, stitch width, and stitch length, is operational; servicing is recommended before regular use. The lot includes a full complement of accessories: Singer Buttonholer in green case with manual, Touch & Sew attachments box and special discs box, Singer oil, throat plate, bobbin, needles, thread stand, Dritz sewing gauge and quilt template sheets, brushes, screwdrivers, lint tools, the Better Homes and Gardens Sewing Book, and Touch & Sew chainstitching and deluxe zig-zag instruction booklets.
CONDITION
Cabinet grades Good with scratches, scuffing, and chips consistent with use; one corner shows a chip near the lower leg joint, and the top surface carries fine scratches. The base is somewhat wobbly. The sewing machine is operational and tested; servicing is recommended before regular use.
