Wallace Silversmiths Sterling "Sterling Memories" Rocking Horse Ornament, 1990
A figural sterling silver Christmas ornament from Wallace Silversmiths' "Sterling Memories" series, modeled as a teddy bear astride a rocking horse. The repoussé front carries crisp relief — the bear's curls, the beaded bridle, and the dangling stirrup all read clearly against the polished ground, while the reverse is plain and stamped WALLACE STERLING with the maker's mark. A soldered jump ring at the crown takes a hook or ribbon for hanging.
Wallace produced these annual sterling ornaments out of Boston through the early 1990s, packaged in the familiar pearl-white gift box. This example arrives complete with its original box, soft storage bag, and the "Sterling Memories" documentation booklet — a tidy presentation for a sterling holiday piece.
CONDITION
Good. The front holds a bright polish with scattered light surface scratches across the open fields; the reverse shows tarnish toning and minor wear consistent with age. We'll leave the polishing to you.
