Lisa Smith for Nambé "Copper Canyon" Wave-Pattern Cast Bowl, 2009
A sculptural cast bowl designed by Lisa Smith for Nambé, model MT0228, dated 2009. The undulating, free-form rim is finished in bright polished copper, while the exterior body carries a banded relief of horizontal waves in a layered patina of copper, deep bronze, and verdigris green — a deliberate oxidized treatment that gives each band its own tonal depth. The interior is left smooth and reflective, contrasting the rough, textured exterior.
Smith's work for Nambé pairs the company's signature metal craft with organic, geologically inspired surfaces — here the layered strata read like a canyon wall in cross-section. The piece is marked on the underside nambé / MT0228 / © Nambé LLC / Lisa Smith / Not For Oven Use / 2009. A decorative bowl meant to be handled and displayed in the round.
CONDITION
Good. Scuffing and shelf wear present, consistent with handling and display. The patinated banding is a designed finish, not damage.
