Description

Polka & Old-Time Dance LP Lot — 20 Albums, Six Fat Dutchmen, Frankie Yankovic, Lawrence Welk

A 20-album lot of polka, waltz, and old-time dance LPs, single-owner and most acquired across the 1960s and 1970s. Titles span the genre's heyday on Decca, Dot, London, ABC-Paramount, and Columbia, with spine-readable names including Six Fat Dutchmen ("Polkas Greatest Hits Vol. III," "On Tour"), Frankie Yankovic ("Dance! Dance! Dance!," "Plays the All-Time Great Waltzes"), "Whoopee" John Wilfahrt ("Golden Favorites"), Lawrence Welk ("Great Polkas from Around the World"), Will Glahé ("Beer Garden Musik"), the Polka Rounders ("Old Time Dance Party"), and Eddie Habat ("The Polka Habat").

The run reflects the mid-century American dance-hall and tavern circuit that kept Cleveland-Slovenian and Minnesota-German polka styles in heavy rotation. Catalog numbers seen on spines include DL 4139, LL 3021, DOT DLP 3302, ABC 262, DLP 3527, ABC-372, DL 4524, DL 8907, CL 2201, and DL 8443.

CONDITION

Playable, as shown. Single-owner collection, most acquired in the 1960s and 1970s, with no unpleasant odors. Jackets show age-appropriate edge and spine wear consistent with storage and use; condition varies across the run.
