Robert L. "Hoot" Gibson Signed NASA Astronaut Portrait — Inscribed Space Shuttle Photo
Color NASA lithographic portrait of Space Shuttle astronaut Robert L. "Hoot" Gibson, shown in the powder-blue flight suit with NASA and Space Shuttle mission patches, holding his helmet against the American flag. Boldly inscribed in black felt-tip in the upper right: "To Steve Billings / With best wishes! / Robert L Gibson." The reverse carries the standard NASA caption block and the JSCIL-330 photo-lab number.
Gibson, a U.S. Navy fighter pilot and test pilot, flew five Shuttle missions between 1984 and 1996, commanding four of them — including STS-71, the first Shuttle docking with the Russian space station Mir. He later served as Chief of NASA's Astronaut Office.
