Description

Country & Western LP Lot of 12 — Buck Owens, Tex Ritter, Wilf Carter, Rex Allen & More

A twelve-record run of country and western LPs from a single owner, weighted toward 1950s–1970s pressings on Capitol, Starday, Decca, RCA, Audio Lab, Crown, and others. Three Buck Owens titles anchor the group: the Capitol mono I've Got a Tiger by the Tail (T 2283), Buck Owens Sings Harlan Howard (T 1482), and the Starday cut-in compilation The Fabulous Country Music Sound of Buck Owens (SLP 172). Two Tex Ritter Capitol albums are present — Hillbilly Heaven (T 1623) and the dramatic Frazetta-style cover of Blood on the Saddle (T 1292).

The balance covers cowboy and yodeling country with Wilf Carter "Montana Slim" (Starday SLP 300), Rex Allen's Mister Cowboy (Decca DL 8776), and a Crown tribute to Grand Ole Opry Star Hawkshaw Hawkins by Wade Holmes (CST-340). Multi-artist compilations round out the lot: the RCA 3-record Great Country Hits of the Year (CPL3-0697), Country Classics on Adam VIII, the Audio Lab Banjos — Country Style (1569), and Hurrah's Country and Western All Time Hits (H-1015). Several jackets carry period grease-pencil dates and Furr's price markings.

CONDITION

Records are playable as shown. Single-owner collection, most acquired in the 1960s and 1970s; no unpleasant odors. Jackets show age-appropriate wear — ring wear, edge and corner softening, seam stress, price stickers and ink notations vary by title; the Adam VIII and RCA box sets show heavier corner and edge wear.
