Description

Country Vinyl LP Lot — Stanley Brothers, Louvin Brothers, George Jones, Loretta Lynn & More, 12 Records

A single-owner run of twelve country, bluegrass, and folk LPs from the 1950s through 1970s, weighted toward classic duet acts. Includes The Stanley's In Person (King 719), Ernest Tubb and Loretta Lynn — Mr. and Mrs. Used To Be (Decca DL 4639), Johnny and Jack — Smiles and Tears (Decca DL 4308, a "Sample Copy / Not For Sale" promo with ink signatures to the front cover), George Jones and Melba Montgomery — What's In Our Heart (United Artists UAL 3301), Wilburn Brothers (Decca DL 8576), The Louvin Brothers — Ira and Charlie and Encore (both Capitol), George Jones & Margie Singleton — Duets Country Style (Mercury MG 20747), and titles by George Hamilton IV, Gordon Lightfoot, Margaret Whiting & Jimmy Wakely, plus the Showcase of Country Stars compilation.

The Johnny and Jack jacket carries signatures attributed to Johnnie Wright and a second signer. Several jackets retain period price stickers and handwritten dates. A heavy concentration of harmony-duo material — the Louvins, Stanleys, Wilburns, and Tubb/Lynn pairings — makes this a coherent group for the bluegrass and traditional-country collector.

CONDITION

Good overall and playable as shown. Jackets show age-appropriate wear including edge and corner softening, ring wear, ink notations, and price stickers; the Johnny and Jack cover bears ink signatures. All single-owner, most acquired in the 1960s and 1970s, with no unpleasant odors.
