1970s–80s Country LP Lot — Kristofferson, Ricky Skaggs, Eddie Rabbitt & Alabama, 4 Records
Four country and outlaw-country vinyl LPs from a single-owner collection, spanning the genre's transition from the songwriter movement of the early 1970s into the radio-polished sound of the early 1980s. The lot includes Songs of Kristofferson (Columbia/Monument, 1977), a career-spanning compilation drawn from five earlier Monument albums, with extensive liner notes by jazz critic Nat Hentoff; Ricky Skaggs — Highways & Heartaches (Epic, 1982), the self-produced album that delivered four No. 1 country singles and earned Skaggs the CMA Album of the Year; Eddie Rabbitt — Horizon (Elektra, 1980), produced by David Malloy, which became one of the best-selling country crossover records of its era; and the self-titled Alabama pressing (RCA, 1981), capturing the band at the peak of their commercial breakthrough with a run of chart-topping singles.
All four are 12" 33⅓ RPM stereo pressings with their original jackets and printed inner sleeves intact. The records are single-owner stock and reflect the full arc of country's commercial era — from Kristofferson's outlaw-era songcraft through the polished radio dominance of Alabama and Rabbitt.
CONDITION
Records grade Good overall and are playable. Jackets show edge wear, ring wear, surface scuffing, and creasing consistent with age and storage; the Alabama and Skaggs jackets have label/finish loss at the lower edges. No unpleasant odors. Vinyl not individually graded beyond playable.
