Webb Pierce on Decca: Cross Country, Sands of Gold & The Wondering Boy — 3 LPs
A three-record run of Webb Pierce on Decca, spanning the singer's long tenure with the label from the original-issue 1950s pressing of The Wondering Boy (DL 8295) through the early-1960s LPs Cross Country (DL 4294) and Sands of Gold (DL 4486). The grouping captures Pierce at full stride — West Monroe, Louisiana's "singingest son," whose honky-tonk hits anchored Decca's country catalog for over a decade. The Cross Country jacket is a standout: Pierce in a gold-embroidered Nudie-style suit posed at the silver-dollar-and-tooled-leather interior of his famous custom convertible — one of Nashville's most photographed cars of the era, its dash inlaid with silver dollars and its upholstery hand-tooled in full floral leather.
All three albums from a single-owner collection, most acquired in the 1960s and 1970s. Records play; jackets show the honest wear of shelf-kept LPs of the period. Full track listings for all three albums are detailed in the Specifications section below.
CONDITION
Good overall. Records are playable. Jackets show age toning, edge and corner wear, and light surface soiling consistent with the era; a price notation appears in pencil on the Sands of Gold verso. From a single-owner collection with no unpleasant odors.
