Description

Jerry Lee Lewis Vinyl LP Collection — Smash, Charly & Elektra, Set of 4

Four-record run of Jerry Lee Lewis LPs spanning the Killer's catalog from his Smash-era hits compilations through later rarities and his 1982 country crossover. The lot pairs two Smash/Mercury stereo pressings — The Golden Rock Hits of Jerry Lee Lewis (SRS-67040), gathering twelve sides from the peak of his Sun-era rock-and-roll dominance, and She Still Comes Around (To Love What's Left of Me) (SRS-67112), his 1968 country pivot produced by Jerry Kennedy — with the UK Charly compilation Rare Jerry Lee Lewis Volume 2 (CR 30007), a 16-track mono set drawn entirely from Sun Studios sessions recorded between 1957 and 1963, licensed from the Shelby Singleton Corp. and compiled by Georges Collange with cover art by Dominique Gangloff.

Rounding out the group is The Best of Jerry Lee Lewis Featuring 39 and Holding on Elektra (7559-60191-1), the 1982 best-of with Greg Ragland's airbrushed cover caricature produced by Eddie Kilroy and Bones Howe, cut at Fireside Studios in Nashville and Filmways/Heider in Hollywood, with a session roster that includes James Burton (dobro, electric guitar), Hal Blaine (drums and percussion), and steel guitarist Stu Basore. The Charly and Elektra jackets carry notably graphic pin-up cover art; the two Smash titles trade on the early rock-and-roll imagery that built the legend. A cohesive single-owner grouping that tracks one performer across three labels and three decades.

CONDITION

Good overall as a used single-owner group. Records are playable. Jackets show wear consistent with age and handling — the She Still Comes Around sleeve has the heaviest surface scuffing, edge wear, and corner softening; the Golden Rock Hits jacket shows scuffing and tanning to the rear.
