Nefertiti Bust — Gilt & Black Cast Resin Sculpture with Winged Scarab Base
A decorative bust of Queen Nefertiti, the New Kingdom royal whose painted limestone likeness — discovered at Amarna in 1912 and now in Berlin's Neues Museum — remains among the most reproduced images in the world. This cast resin rendering pairs a matte black face and neck against a gilt tall flat-topped crown, broad usekh collar, and a stepped plinth molded with a winged scarab cartouche. The crown carries embossed ankh and feather-pattern detailing across its band.
CONDITION
Fair; displays well. The finish shows crazing and cracking, with a notable crack tracking across the underside of the chin and neck, and a scuffed corner on the base. Several touched-up areas are present on the crown/headdress.
