Camillus 1985 U.S. Military Demo Knife — Four-Blade Utility / Jack Knife
Standard-issue U.S. military demolition/utility knife made by Camillus and dated 1985 on the master blade tang. The diamond-pattern stainless handles are stamped U.S. on the front bolster, and the knife carries the full four-tool layout: a spear-point master blade, a can opener stamped "CAN OPENER," a combination cap-lifter/screwdriver/wire-stripper blade, and a swiveling bail for lanyard or belt attachment.
This pattern — the all-metal "demo knife" — was carried across all branches from the 1940s through the 1980s and beyond, valued for its rugged construction and field versatility. Camillus was among the principal long-term contractors for the type, and dated examples like this one let collectors place the piece within a specific production year.
CONDITION
Good with no damage. Surfaces show light tarnish, scattered cloudy spotting, and minor wear to the plating on the tool blades consistent with service use. All blades and tools open and close on firm springs; the bail swings freely.
