Neoclassical Corinthian Column Table Lamp with Striped Empire Shade
A cast metal table lamp in the Neoclassical taste, built as a fluted Corinthian column rising from a tripartite scrolled base. The capital carries crisp acanthus and volute detail, with a second band of overlapping acanthus leaves wrapping the lower shaft and a beaded collar at the waist. The finish reads as bronze with a verdigris-toned wash settled into the recesses, giving the casting depth and an aged patina. Three scrolled feet meet a concave-sided plinth with egg-and-dart and gadrooned banding.
The lamp is topped with a coolie-style Empire shade in cream fabric, accented with vertical bands and groups of warm copper-toned stripes. Underside access shows a hexagonal cast cavity routed for the cord, and the base retains its felt pad.
CONDITION
Very Good. Tested and fully functional with no damage to the casting. The shade is clean with light age-toning and minor surface soiling to the fabric consistent with use.
