Windsor Farms Mahogany-Finish Louis Philippe Style King Sleigh Bed

A substantial Windsor Farms king-size sleigh bed in the Louis Philippe tradition, with the hallmark scrolled headboard and footboard rolling outward in classic curl-over form. The frame is executed in solid wood with a deep, hand-rubbed mahogany-toned finish — varied and slightly mottled across the panels, giving the surface a worked-in, antiqued appearance. Carved bullseye rosettes anchor the volutes at each scroll terminus, and the whole rests on turned bun feet at the footboard.

The Louis Philippe sleigh form traces to 1830s France, where the curved sweep of the headboard and footboard borrowed from earlier Empire designs and softened them for bourgeois bedroom comfort. Windsor Farms' interpretation keeps the architectural presence — this is a large, room-anchoring piece at 80½" wide and over eight feet long — while finishing the wood in a darkened tone suited to traditional and transitional interiors. Identified by paper manufacturer's label on the footboard interior reading "4998-273 WINDSOR FARMS SLEIGH KG FB-TOB". Side rails and slat supports are included. CONDITION

Good to Fair. Solid wood and structurally functional throughout. Scratches and scuffing across the finish; trim missing along the left bottom side of the headboard; damage to the top right area of the headboard with cracking visible along the upper roll; an indentation noted on the footboard. Bun feet show edge wear and minor losses.
