Astronaut John Glenn Family-Signed 1961 Muskingum Commencement Program
A 1961 commencement program from Muskingum College in New Concord, Ohio — John Glenn's hometown and alma mater — signed on the front cover in three hands: John H. Glenn, Jr. in pencil, and below in blue ballpoint, Dave Glenn and Lyn Glenn, the astronaut's son and daughter. The cover is set in blackletter type with the Muskingum seal at center and documents the One Hundred and Sixteenth Commencement, held in the Physical Education Building on Monday, June 5, 1961, at 10:00 A.M.
The date places this program eight months before Glenn's Friendship 7 orbital flight on February 20, 1962, which made him the first American to orbit the Earth. Glenn was a 1939 Muskingum student who left to enlist following Pearl Harbor; the college later awarded him an honorary doctorate, and he served on its board. The signatures were obtained directly by the consignor — a dedicated space history collector — making the chain of custody on this family-signed piece both personal and direct.

CONDITION
Good. Toning and light edge wear to the cream wrappers, with small nicks and a short edge tear at the spine staples. Signatures are clear and legible; pencil signature shows expected light silvering. Interior pages clean with the graduate roster and honors lists fully readable.
