Victorian-Style Swan-Arm Rocking Chair, Carved Hardwood with Paisley Upholstery
A recently manufactured rocking chair in the Victorian revival idiom, featuring sculpted hardwood arm supports carved as stylized swan necks — the signature motif of nineteenth-century American parlor rockers. The frame is solid wood with a warm honey finish, pegged joinery accents, and gently curved rockers. Back, seat, and arm pads are upholstered in a tonal paisley tapestry fabric in browns and golds with hints of teal, lending the chair a layered, traditional feel that reads equally at home in a study, nursery, or sitting room.
The form references mid-Victorian sewing and nursing rockers, scaled here for adult comfort with a tall sloped back, padded armrests, and a deep seat. Construction is sturdy throughout — the rockers track smoothly and the joinery is tight. Unmarked.
CONDITION
Good overall and structurally sturdy. Light scuffing to the wood frame consistent with handling. The upholstery shows wear in the center of the backrest where contact is heaviest; balance of fabric remains presentable.
