French Made-in-France Hammered Copper Saucepans, Set of 3 with Iron Handles

A working trio of French hand-hammered copper saucepans, each stamped MADE IN FRANCE at the handle joint and fitted with hand-forged iron handles secured by copper rivets. The set descends in graduated sizes — large, medium, and small — with the two larger pots retaining tinned interiors showing the soft pewter sheen of long kitchen use, and the smallest pan showing a brighter, less-worn lining. The exteriors carry the warm, mottled patina that only decades of stovetop service produce: ranging from honeyed gold to deep oxidized russet, with planishing marks faintly catching the light across the bodies.

Two hammered copper lids accompany the set, each topped with a small brass strap handle. One lid pairs cleanly with the large pot; the second lid does not fit the medium pot and is included as a spare. French copper of this construction — heavy gauge, iron-handled, rivet-set — was the workhorse of professional and serious domestic kitchens through the twentieth century, prized for responsive heat and even browning. CONDITION

Good with age-appropriate wear throughout. All three pots sit flat and show signs of use across the bodies and interiors. One lid is not original and does not fit the medium pot. The smallest pot shows lighter use than the other two.
