Goebel Hummel "Just Resting" Figurine #112/1, TMK-3 Stylized Bee, West Germany
A charming M.I. Hummel "Just Resting" figurine produced by Goebel of West Germany, depicting a young girl in headscarf and dirndl perched on a rustic split-rail fence with her wicker market basket of apples set down beside her on the ground. The piece carries the incised mold number 112/1 with the TMK-3 Stylized Bee backstamp in blue, dating production to approximately 1960–1972. Additional incised marks include "33" and a painter's number "7."
"Just Resting" (Hum 112) was first modeled by master sculptor Arthur Moeller in 1938 and remained in the Goebel catalog for decades, becoming one of the more recognizable figures in the Sister Maria Innocentia Hummel canon. The 112/1 designation indicates the standard size. Hand-painted details — the orange-trimmed kerchief, the polka-dot sleeves, the apples nestled in the basket, and the small blossoms at the base of the fence — are crisply rendered with the soft palette typical of the Stylized Bee era.
CONDITION
Very Good. No chips, cracks, or repairs noted. Paint remains bright with strong color retention throughout. Light surface dust consistent with shelf display.
