Ethan Allen Baumritter Maple Five-Drawer Chest, Made in Vermont
A solid maple chest of drawers from Ethan Allen's Baumritter line, made in Vermont and branded inside the drawer interior. The case carries three faux-front top drawers (functioning as a single full-width drawer) above four graduated long drawers, all fitted with Chippendale-style brass batwing pulls on the lower drawers and small turned brass knobs on the top tier. Dovetail joinery throughout, with the warm honey-toned maple finish and recessed plinth base characteristic of Ethan Allen's Early American collection.
The reverse retains stenciled production markings — number 16108 with inspection code BF-673 — useful reference points for dating within the Baumritter era, when the Vermont workshops produced the bulk of Ethan Allen's solid-maple Colonial-revival casegoods. A versatile bedroom piece, equally at home as a tall chest or as the larger of a pair in a guest room.
CONDITION
Good overall with no remarkable damage. Minor dings and light scuffs to the top surface, difficult to see in normal light. Drawers operate smoothly; hardware is intact and original.
