1984 LEGO Expert Builder Set No. 8050, Open Box — Complete
A LEGO Expert Builder Set No. 8050 from 1984, the precursor line to what would later become LEGO Technic. The set contains 147 interlocking pieces including a 4.5-volt motor and battery control unit, allowing builders to construct multiple motorized models — a helicopter, dune buggy, windmill, walking robot, and crane among them — from a single kit. The box back illustrates the breadth of what the set can build and identifies the gear ratios, axle lengths, and pulley sizes included.
The Expert Builder line was LEGO's bridge between standard brick sets and true mechanical engineering toys, introducing gears, pulleys, axles, and electric motors to a generation of young builders aged 8 to 14. This example is open box with the inner tray, instruction booklet, and component blister in place and undisturbed — consistent with decades of storage rather than play. Distributed by LEGO Systems, Inc. of Enfield, Connecticut; contents made in Denmark and Switzerland. Copyright 1984 LEGO Group.
