1983 U.S. Mint Olympic Prestige Set — Six-Coin Proof Set with Silver Dollar
The 1983 United States Mint Olympic Prestige Set, issued to commemorate the XXIII Olympiad held in Los Angeles. The set contains six proof coins struck at the San Francisco Mint: a Lincoln cent, Jefferson nickel, Roosevelt dime, Washington quarter, Kennedy half dollar, and the commemorative Olympic Silver Dollar designed by Elizabeth Jones, depicting a stylized discus thrower after the ancient Greek sculpture by Myron. All six coins bear the S mint mark.
Housed in the original burgundy leatherette presentation folder with embossed Olympic "Stars in Motion" logo and United States Mint script, accompanied by the original specifications insert card detailing denominations, compositions, and standard weights for each coin in the set.
