1966 Austria 25 Schilling Silver Commemorative — Ferdinand Raimund
1966 Austrian Republic 25 Schilling silver commemorative coin, designed by sculptor Rudolf Weiz and struck in .800 fine silver at the Austrian Mint (Münze Österreich) to mark the 130th anniversary of the death of Viennese playwright Ferdinand Raimund (1790–1836). Struck at the Vienna Mint, which produced this issue without a mint mark.
Ferdinand Raimund was a defining figure of the Viennese Biedermeier stage, known for fairy-tale plays such as Der Bauer als Millionär and Der Verschwender. The 25 Schilling silver commemorative series (1955–1973) honored figures and anniversaries central to Austrian cultural identity in the postwar republic, and Raimund's place within that program reflects his continued standing in the German-language theatrical canon.
