Ethan Allen Baumritter Heirloom Maple Triple Dresser, Nutmeg Finish
An Ethan Allen Heirloom triple dresser from the Baumritter era, built in Vermont in solid maple with the warm Nutmeg finish that defined the line. The Early American silhouette pairs four upper drawers with a center stack of three graduated drawers flanked by louvered cabinet doors on wrought-style black iron H-hinges. Brass Chippendale-style bail pulls anchor the larger drawers; smaller turned brass knobs serve the uppers. The bracket-foot base and overhanging top complete the colonial revival vocabulary the brand built its reputation on.
Construction is the reason these pieces still circulate sixty years on: dovetailed drawers throughout, solid wood case, and thoughtful interior fitments — the top center drawers are divided into compartments for small goods, and the right-hand louvered door conceals two additional dovetailed drawers behind its panel. Marked Ethan Allen Early American by Baumritter, Made in Vermont inside the drawer, with a stenciled Nutmeg finish code on the case back.
CONDITION
Good throughout with no remarkable damage. Finish presents cleanly with the original Nutmeg tone intact; drawers run smoothly and hardware is complete. Light handling marks consistent with careful household use.
