Description

BS Levy "Toly's Ghost" Signed Preview Edition — Last Open Road Series, 2006

A signed and personalized Preview Edition of Toly's Ghost, the fourth novel in Burt "BS" Levy's cult-classic Last Open Road series. Published by Think Fast Ink of Oak Park, Illinois, this hardcover first edition (June 2006) continues the adventures of narrator-hero Buddy Palumbo and the motor-mad gang from Finzio's Sinclair, set against the backdrop of late-1950s and early-1960s American sports car racing. The dust jacket carries the distinctive Ferrari-red cover art with the spectral driver motif that gives the book its title.

The front endpaper bears a lively inked inscription from the author to "Bob," with a reference to "wheeling the Cobra around" and a hand-drawn flourish accompanying Levy's signature. A purple "PREVIEW EDITION!" stamp appears below the inscription, marking this as one of the limited advance copies circulated by the author before general release. Levy — himself a vintage racer — built a devoted following among motorsports readers; Road & Track compared his narrator to Holden Caulfield, and Atlas F1 called his work "the best fictional motorsports writing ever encountered."

CONDITION

Excellent. No remarkable damage. Dust jacket present and bright; binding tight; inscription and signature crisp in purple ink.
