Solid Oak Spindle-Back Daybed with Pop-Up Trundle, Twin
A solid oak twin daybed with a pop-up trundle frame, built in the country-cottage idiom that ran through American bedroom furniture from the 1980s into the early 2000s. The arched backrest and matching arm panels are filled with turned spindles set above a scalloped lower rail, and the center crest carries an applied carved rosette-and-ribbon medallion. Turned posts terminate in urn finials above and ball feet below, with ring-turned detailing at the joinery transitions. Unmarked.
The trundle mechanism is the practical feature here — a steel pop-up frame on casters that rolls out from beneath the daybed and lifts to mattress height, converting a twin daybed into a king-equivalent sleeping surface. Both decks use the older link-spring construction with helical tension springs at the perimeter rather than modern wood slats. Mattresses and bedding are not included.
CONDITION
Good overall with no remarkable damage. Light handling marks and minor finish wear to the posts and lower rails consistent with use. Frame is solid and joinery is tight; trundle mechanism operates.
