Tagus Portugal Copper & Brass Cookware Set with Chafing Stand
A three-piece grouping of mid-century copper cookware including a lidded oval casserole with brass loop handles, a lidded saucepan with brass side handle and long brass stick handle, and a lidded chafing pot with turned wood handle on a removable brass stand with fuel cup. A flat copper underplate accompanies the lot. Two of the pieces carry Tagus / Made in Portugal maker's stamps to the underside; the largest casserole is unmarked. Interiors are tin-lined, exteriors finished in warm polished copper with brass fittings.
Tagus was among the better-known Portuguese copper houses producing tin-lined cookware for the American and European markets from the 1960s onward. The set reads as a working kitchen accumulation rather than a matched suite — useful for stovetop cooking, tableside service, or as a decorative kitchen display.
CONDITION
Good overall with scuffing and signs of use throughout. Minor dings to the underplate; tin linings show oxidation, water spotting, and surface wear consistent with kitchen use. Brass fittings show light tarnish.
