Enid Romanek "Overall, Music" Signed Etching, Edition 10/75

A figural intaglio etching by Enid Romanek depicting a seated figure in striped overalls cradling a classical guitar by the neck, the instrument standing nearly the full height of the composition. Romanek's contour-line approach builds the image entirely through fine drypoint and etched line — no shading, no tonal fill — letting the rhythm of the vertical overall stripes play against the curves of the guitar body and the turned spindles of the chair. Printed in warm sepia-brown ink on cream wove paper with deckled edges and a visible plate mark.

Pencil-titled "Overall, Music" at lower left, numbered 10/75 at center, and signed enid romanek at lower right. Romanek is an American printmaker and illustrator best known for illustrating Feelings (1984) by Aliki Brandenberg, a widely circulated children's book that remains in print; her clean contour-line figurative style carries directly across both bodies of work. Presented float-mounted on a tobacco-brown mat in a slim gilt-tone metal frame under glass.

CONDITION

Print grades Very Good with clean margins, crisp plate impression, and no foxing or toning apparent through the glazing. Frame is Good with scratches to the gilt-tone metal molding. Not examined out of frame.
