Description

INTV System III Intellivision Console & 10 Games — Pitfall, Burgertime, Tron

The disc controller, the 12-button keypad, the printed overlay cards that slid in for every new game — anyone who plugged an Intellivision into the back of a wood-grain television in the early '80s remembers the ritual. This is an INTV System III, Model 3504: Mattel's original platform reborn under new ownership after Mattel exited the video game business in 1984 and INTV Corporation picked up the rights, keeping the console alive through the back half of the decade. Made in Hong Kong, two-prong AC, two hardwired controllers with brushed-aluminum trim and both keypads intact.

Ten cartridges follow, reading like a Saturday-morning index card. Pitfall! with Harry vaulting the crocodile pits. Burgertime stacking patties with Peter Pepper. Tron Deadly Discs and Tron Maze-A-Tron, the two halves of the grid. Mission X, Lock 'N' Chase, Beauty & the Beast on the Imagic label, Horse Racing and Backgammon from the 1979 launch wave, and Frog Bog. Most arrive in their original boxes with instruction booklets and the printed plastic overlays still inside — the small piece of equipment that turned every cartridge into its own dashboard.

Power cord attached, two coaxial RF cables included, console confirmed to light up at the switch. The rest is muscle memory.

GAMES INCLUDED

  • Pitfall! — Activision, 1982
  • Burgertime — Mattel / Data East, 1982
  • Tron Deadly Discs — Mattel / Walt Disney Productions, 1982
  • Tron Maze-A-Tron — Mattel, 1981
  • Mission X — Mattel / Data East, 1983
  • Lock 'N' Chase — Mattel / Data East, 1982
  • Beauty & the Beast — Imagic, 1982
  • Horse Racing — Mattel, 1979
  • Backgammon — Mattel, 1979
  • Frog Bog — Mattel, 1982

CONDITION Very Good cosmetically. Console powers on and the indicator light illuminates; gameplay function was not tested further. The brushed-aluminum trim panels show light surface scratching and scuffing, most pronounced on the front strip adjacent to the INTV logo and on the right-hand controller disc. Game boxes display edge wear and rubbing consistent with age; the Imagic Beauty & the Beast sleeve shows the most pronounced foil scuffing, and the Backgammon box has a torn interior flap.
