Description

American Heritage Civil War & Stratego Board Games, Milton Bradley 1961 & 1970

Pair of Milton Bradley strategy board games from the Springfield, Massachusetts maker. The American Heritage Game of the Civil War (No. 4115) carries a 1961 copyright and features cover art adapted from "The Battle of Lookout Mountain." The set includes molded blue Union and gray Confederate infantry, cavalry, and artillery pieces on tab bases, a die, instruction sheet printed on the box interior, and the illustrated outline-history booklet referenced on the cover. Stratego (No. 4916) carries a 1970 copyright and includes the full complement of blue and red plastic tile pieces with gold and silver military rank insignia, ranging from Spy through Field Marshal, plus bombs and flags.

Both are adult-owned examples from the classic Milton Bradley "Key to Fun and Learning" era — the period when MB leaned hard into the adult strategy-game market alongside Stratego, Summit, and Broadside. Complete sets in original boxes from this window have a steady following on eBay and among vintage board game collectors.

CONDITION

Good overall, complete and adult-owned. Both boxes show storage wear with torn corners, edge splits, and tape repairs to the lid edges and corners. The Civil War box lid shows soiling, creasing, and edge loss along the top panel. Interior components and game pieces present well.
