Karim Rashid for Nambé Studio Aluminum Candlesticks, Pair, 1994
A sculptural pair of Nambé Studio candlesticks designed by Karim Rashid in 1994, executed in the polished Nambé alloy that made the foundry famous. The form is pure Rashid — an hourglass silhouette that pinches at the waist and flares to a wide conical base, with a tapered cup at the top sized for a standard taper candle. The mirror-bright surface catches and bends every reflection in the room, turning each piece into a small kinetic sculpture as light moves across it.
Both bases are signed and dated on the underside: the Nambé Studio script logo, ©1994, the model number 30, and a hand-inscribed "Karim" signature. Karim Rashid's collaboration with the Santa Fe–based Nambé foundry during the 1990s produced some of the brand's most collected studio-line objects, bridging high design with the New Mexico metalcraft tradition that has defined Nambé since 1951.
CONDITION
Good. Surface scratches and light handling marks throughout the polished alloy consistent with display use. We'll leave the polishing to you.
