White Wolf Navajo Kachina Doll by K.H., Hand-Carved & Signed, Spear-Bearing Warrior Figure
A hand-carved Navajo White Wolf Kachina doll, signed K.H. on the underside of the base along with the figure's name. The figure depicts the white wolf hunter spirit — a powerful warrior and guardian associated with the hunt in Navajo tradition. The carved wood body wears a fierce snouted mask painted in crisp black, white, and red, framed by a thick white fur ruff and crowned with upright feathers. The torso and limbs carry traditional geometric paintwork in red, black, white, blue, and green, with green yarn armbands, a beaded sash, and tasseled yarn pendants in red, green, and black at the kilt.
Details extend through every element: hand-stitched leather moccasins with fringe ties, fur tufts at the wrists, and a slender carved spear bound with hide wrapping in the right hand. A small painted wooden rattle bound with fur rests in the left hand. The figure stands mounted on a natural bark-edged wood slice base, signed and titled by the maker in pyrography.
CONDITION
Very Good. Paint, fur, feathers, and leatherwork all present with no significant loss. Minor fur shed and a few stray fibers consistent with handling. Spear tip and rattle remain securely bound.
