Franciscan Apple 8-Piece Hand-Decorated Serving Lot, Gladding McBean

Eight-piece serving lot in the iconic Apple pattern by Franciscan, hand-decorated earthenware produced by Gladding, McBean & Co. of California. The group includes a divided oval tray, oval relish dish, two crescent salad plates, a gravy boat with attached underplate, and three tall shakers. Each piece carries the embossed apple-and-branch motif in warm reds, greens, and browns against the signature ivory ground — a pattern introduced in 1940 that became one of the most recognized American dinnerware designs of the twentieth century.

Backstamps include the "Franciscan Hand Decorated / Made in California USA / Gladding, McBean & Co. / Oven-Safe" mark and the later script "F" mark, indicating production across multiple decades of the pattern's long run. A solid working serving group for collectors building out the pattern or anyone setting a table with American mid-century character.

CONDITION

Good overall with light utensil wear consistent with use. One shaker shows crazing only noticeable on close inspection. Two of the three shakers are missing their stoppers. No chips or cracks noted.
