Mission Style Solid Wood 5-Tier Open Bookshelf with Slatted Sides
An open five-tier bookshelf built in the Mission idiom, with vertical slatted side panels, exposed peg-style fasteners, and a shaped overhanging top cap. The solid wood construction shows visible grain, knots, and a warm honey finish throughout. Each of the four fixed shelves clears 13.75" in height, making the piece practical for standard hardcovers, baskets, or display objects, while the slim 12" depth allows it to work in narrow rooms or hallways.
The slatted sides and ladder-style cross stretchers carry the Arts & Crafts vocabulary forward in a lighter, more open form than the heavier oak originals of the early twentieth century. Hex-head fasteners are recessed into the stiles and remain visible, reinforcing the honest-construction aesthetic central to the style.
CONDITION
Good and sturdy overall. Light scuffing and scattered stains to the shelves and frame consistent with use; the feet show darker staining at the bases.
