Uranium Glass Handkerchief Vase on Pedestal Base, UV-Reactive
A vivid uranium glass pedestal vase with a freeform handkerchief rim, the upper bowl pulled into six soft peaks above a paneled stem and scalloped foot. Under UV light the glass blazes the unmistakable electric green that collectors prize — the signature glow of trace uranium oxide in the batch. In daylight the piece reads as a softer pale green with subtle opalescence through the body.
The form combines two popular early-to-mid 20th century glass traditions: the ruffled handkerchief bowl and the pressed pedestal compote. Confirmed UV-reactive, it presents equally well as a display piece on a lit shelf or as a functional centerpiece for fruit, florals, or trinkets.
