Description

Nambé 6112 Polished Alloy Champagne Flutes, Pair, 1996

A sculptural pair of Nambé champagne flutes in the maker's signature high-polish alloy, modeled with the elongated tulip bowl and tapered stem that became a hallmark of the brand's barware in the 1990s. The cups rise from a weighted disc foot through a slender column that flares into a deep, narrow bowl — a profile engineered for sparkling wine and engineered to catch light. Each piece carries the underside mark "nambé 6112 © 1996".

Founded in 1951 in Nambé Pueblo, New Mexico, Nambé Mills built its reputation on a proprietary eight-metal alloy developed to hold a mirror finish without plating. The flutes belong to the firm's late-twentieth-century barware program, designed for wedding registries and tabletop gifting and produced just outside Santa Fe.

CONDITION

Good. Both flutes show surface scuffing and light scratching to the polished exterior consistent with use. Forms remain true and bases sit flat.
