Description

Pyrex Early American Cinderella Mixing Bowls, Set of 3

The Early American pattern arrived in 1962, right when American kitchens were leaning hard into the Colonial Revival — a postwar nostalgia trip that put Paul Revere silhouettes on everything from wallpaper to dish towels. Pyrex landed perfectly in that moment. The Cinderella bowl's distinctive pour-spout handles had already been a fixture on American countertops since 1956, and when Corning dressed them in this warm brown-and-gold folk-art vocabulary — bald eagles in full wing-spread, crowing roosters on weathervanes, hand-cranked coffee grinders, cast-iron kettles, ears of corn, tabby cats napping at the base — it felt less like a kitchen product and more like a piece of Americana that happened to be oven-safe.

This set of three includes the two white bowls with warm brown print and the larger brown 4-quart bowl with gold print — the color inversion that makes the 444 the visual anchor of the nest. All three are maker-marked PYREX on the base with the Corning backstamp. The Early American pattern was produced through the 1960s and has become one of the more sought-after patterns in the Cinderella line, partly for the density of its motif work and partly for that earthy brown palette that photographs beautifully against a farmhouse kitchen backdrop.

CONDITION

Good overall. Utensil marks present on the interiors of the white bowls, consistent with regular use. Minor loss to the printed finish, most notably on the large brown bowl where the gold decoration shows light wear and some flaking to the motifs. No chips, cracks, or damage to the glass on any of the three pieces.
