Reed & Barton Sterling Silver Salt & Pepper Shakers, Monogrammed "R," Pair
Pair of tapered urn-form sterling silver shakers by Reed & Barton, each rising from a stepped square base to a domed, pierced top. The form follows a restrained Neoclassical profile — trumpet body, molded neck ring, and chamfered plinth — with a boldly engraved Old English "R" monogram centered on the front panel. Bodies are solid sterling.
Bases are stamped with the Reed & Barton maker's cartouche alongside STERLING and pattern number 1190. The engraving is crisp and professionally executed, the hatched shading characteristic of mid-century hand work. A matched pair in a classic pattern from one of America's most enduring silver houses.
CONDITION
Good overall with age-appropriate wear throughout. Some dents; surfaces show tarnish, minor scratching, and spotting consistent with honest age. Both lids are stuck on — we'll leave the polishing to you.
