Description

Uttermost Pair of Silver & Gold Gilt Iron Openwork Candlesticks

A matched pair of decorative pillar candlesticks by Uttermost, each featuring a tall, balustrade-form openwork iron cage of crisscrossing silver-gilt straps that taper from a flared shoulder to a banded waist. The crown is dressed with upright iron leaves and curling scrollwork rising around a wide drip pan, while the lower body transitions into a fluted gilt sheaf rising from a beaded silver collar. Square stepped resin bases finished in ebonized black ground the composition.

The combination of antiqued silver leaf, warm gold gilt, and ebonized plinths gives these a Hollywood Regency / Neoclassical revival flavor well suited to mantels, entry consoles, or a dining tablescape. Each base is marked Uttermost with item number 20537 cast into the underside.

CONDITION

Excellent with no remarkable damage. Finishes show the intentional antiqued, lightly distressed patina as designed.
