E. Irving Couse "Moki Snake Dancer" Reproduction on Canvas, Gilt Frame
A canvas reproduction after Eanger Irving Couse (1866–1936), founding member of the Taos Society of Artists, depicting a kneeling figure offering an ear of corn before a small stone fetish — a composition consistent with Couse's well-known "Moki Snake Dancer" and related ceremonial subjects from his Taos period. The image carries Couse's signature treatment of warm firelight against deep nocturnal shadow, the figure modeled in rose and ochre against a cool blue-green ground.
Presented in a wide gilt cove frame with linen liner and a brass identification plaque reading E. IRVING COUSE, N.A. / 1866–1936. This is a printed reproduction on canvas, not an original oil; offered as decorative art for buyers drawn to Couse's iconography and the Taos painters of the early twentieth century.
CONDITION
Good as a decorative reproduction. Overall fading and UV exposure noted to the image surface. Frame shows light handling wear with minor speckling and scattered nicks to the gilt finish.
