A.H. Richards Signed Cowboy Portrait Print on Canvas, 1968
A standing cowboy portrait reproduced on canvas after the original by A.H. Richards, signed and dated 1968 in the lower left of the image. The subject stands in three-quarter pose against a pale desert sky and distant violet mountains, dressed in a battered hat with beaded band, work jacket over a lace-trimmed shirt, wide buckle belt, and fringed chaps with a holstered tool at the hip. The brushwork reads as oil — loose, painterly, with confident handling of light across the leather and denim.
Set in a substantial hand-carved wood frame with a gouged, chip-textured outer molding and a smooth stepped inner liner, finished in a soft weathered grey-tan that complements the painting's dusty palette. A second inscription (faded) appears in graphite or thin paint above the printed signature. Treated here as a decorative reproduction on canvas, framed as a finished wall piece.
CONDITION
Good. Canvas surface is clean with potential UV fading. Frame shows light handling marks consistent with age. No restoration noted.
