Rudy Lucero Lidded Raku Vessel — Copper & Verdigris Crackle Glaze
A substantial lidded raku vessel by Las Cruces ceramic artist Rudy Lucero, executed in a globular form with a wide shoulder, narrow lidded neck, and turned foot ring. The body carries a dramatic raku-fired crackle surface that shifts from oxidized copper-red at the base through metallic bronze midsection into a verdigris green across the shoulder, with the dense reticulated texture characteristic of post-firing reduction. The neck collar, foot, and lid rim retain a matte carbon-black finish that frames the lustered field.
The fitted disc lid is similarly glazed and secured with a copper wire loop. Signed on the underside with the artist's incised "Rudy" cipher (see supplemental reference image).
CONDITION
Excellent. No damage, chips, or cracks noted. Crackle pattern is intentional to the raku process and integral to the surface design.
