After Louis-Albert Carvin, French Art Deco Greyhound, Patinated Metal
A striking figural sculpture of a standing greyhound after the French animalier Louis-Albert Carvin (1875–1951), front paw elevated atop a stepped pedestal in a classic show-stance pose. The hollow-cast patinated metal figure carries a warm gilt-bronze finish with naturalistic surface texture across the coat, expressive facial modeling, and a characteristically curled tail. The integral plinth beneath the right paw is finished with a stippled ground that contrasts with the smoother body.
Mounted on a chamfered rouge griotte marble base with green and white veining, the composition reads as French Art Deco, circa 1920–1930.
CONDITION
Good overall with no remarkable damage. Patina is even with light surface oxidation and scattered minor pitting consistent with age. Minor imperfections to the edge of the marble base.
