Gint & Regina Sabaliauskas Lithuanian Ceramic Castle Tealight Sculptures
Pair of hand-sculpted and hand-painted ceramic castle tealight houses by Lithuanian artists Gint & Regina Sabaliauskas. Each piece is a fantastical Gothic-revival tower with conical shingled spires, crenellated battlements, arched stained-glass-style windows in deep cobalt and white drip glaze, and applied florals climbing the brickwork. One features a dramatic black witch-hat spire with a serpentine ribbon trailing down its side and an open portcullis archway; the other rises into clustered terracotta spires crowned by a sculpted rose-and-foliage finial.
Both pieces are signed with the artists' impressed G&RS mark and retain the original studio label noting "Artist From Lithuania." The interiors are hollow with open arched windows designed for tealight or low-wattage illumination.
CONDITION
Very good overall. One example has a plastic candle cup adhered inside the base; the other shows a 1/4" chip to the roof that is difficult to see in normal display. Glazes, painted detail, and applied ornament are intact across both pieces.
