Lane Miniature Cedar Salesman Sample Chest, American Furniture Co. Albuquerque
Small-scale Lane cedar chest in the form of the company's iconic full-size hope chest, finished in rich aromatic red cedar with visible knots and natural grain figuring across the lid. Brass-rimmed keyhole grommet at the front; piano-hinged lid opens to reveal an unfinished cedar interior branded "Lane Presented By American Furniture Co. Albuquerque, New Mexico."
These miniatures were given as high-school graduation promotional gifts by Lane dealers — the American Furniture Co. mark ties this example directly to the Albuquerque retailer.
