Early 20th C. Galvanized Steel Dairy Milk Can w/ Painted "3" Marking
Early 20th century galvanized steel dairy milk can, likely dating circa 1920s–1940s. The substantial vessel features a tall cylindrical body, domed shoulder with flared vented rim, side locking lugs, and an arched carrying handle — a classic profile from the era when cans like these moved fresh milk from farm to creamery before refrigerated bulk tanks took over. Original painted inventory markings remain on the shoulder, including a prominent black "3" and a faint possible "8."
The naturally aged galvanized surface carries rich industrial patina with oxidation, scratches, and wear accumulated through decades of agricultural service. A strong decorative anchor for farmhouse, primitive, or industrial interiors.
CONDITION
Good condition with age-appropriate wear throughout. Surface oxidation, scratches, discoloration, rust spotting, and patina are present consistent with long-term farm and industrial use. Structurally solid; original painted markings remain partially visible.
