Turtle Trinket Box, Aluminum, Black Lacquer Shell, India
Figural turtle-form trinket box cast in aluminum with a hinged carapace lid that opens to reveal a fitted oval interior compartment. The shell is decorated with a fish-scale pattern in raised aluminum against a black lacquered ground, while the head, tail, and four splayed feet are rendered with hand-finished detail. The base is marked "INDIA."
CONDITION
Good overall and fully functional with a working hinge. Surface shows scattered handling marks and light scratches consistent with use; the black lacquer on the shell exhibits minor wear along the raised scale edges.
