Art Deco Bakelite Handle Serving Set with Thomas & Co. Sheffield Knife, 4 Pcs
A four-piece Art Deco serving and table set with butterscotch and marbled tortoise Bakelite handles paired with chrome-plated and stainless implements. The grouping includes a salad serving fork, matching salad serving spoon, a two-tine carving or roast fork with swirled brown Bakelite handle, and a serrated table knife with an amber Bakelite handle. The knife blade is marked "Thomas & Co. Makers, Sheffield — Stainless Steel — Made in England," dating the set to circa 1930s–1940s.
CONDITION
Good overall with age-appropriate wear consistent with use. The salad spoon shows notable surface scratching and yellow-toned finish loss/oxidation to the bowl, with similar but lighter wear on the salad fork; the carving fork and knife present cleaner. Bakelite handles are intact with no visible cracks, retaining good color and polish.
