MCM Stainless Flatware Set in Zebrawood Case
Mid-century modern flatware service marked "Lifetime Stainless Steel Viking — Carvel Hall 5th Ave" on the case lid interior, with tapered split-shank handles in a cork-composite or simulated cork resin and polished stainless bowls, tines, and blades. Knives marked "Stainless Japan" to the blade. The 23-piece set comprises five dinner knives, six dinner forks, six soup spoons, and six teaspoons, housed in the original striped hardwood presentation case with gray flocked fitted interior and nickel-plated latches.
Lot also includes four Vera Neumann printed cotton napkins in the avocado green and chartreuse "Ferns" pattern, each signed Vera with the ladybug mark, circa late 1960s–early 1970s.
CONDITION
Good overall. Flatware shows light surface scratching and minor patina to the stainless consistent with use; cork-resin handles are intact with no cracks or chips noted. Case exterior shows light wear and minor soiling to the veneer; flocked interior is dusty with scattered scuffing. Napkins present clean with faint signs of use, no notable staining or holes observed. Set is short one knife from a service for six.
